If your home theater electric recliner doesn’t work, you need to check the chair parts like power cord, reclining mechanism and motor, hand control / switch or power supply.
Firstly, start from the easiest step – checking the power cord.
If your recliner chair doesn’t work, first thing you need to do is to check the plug, making sure it is into the outlet. Then turn the chair upside down ( backrest on the carpet or other cushions to avoid getting dirty), check the main power cord if it is loose. Many people succeed fixing the problem at this step. Secondly, check the hand control/switch of the chair
It is easy to find out switch problem and many chairs don’t work because failed switches. Some chair steel mechanism may get bent for some reasons ( For example, kids sit and play only on the footrest part, and footrest supporting steel get bent.) You need to turn the sofa upside down to check the steel bars on the footrest. If it is bent, try to get it straight or get it replaced.
Recliner chair may also doesn’t work because something under the chair make it stuck. So put the chair upside down to make sure nothing unrelated under the chair. Or keep the cables under the chair neat and tidy to make sure the mechanism works smoothly.
The last thing is the motor problem. So check the motor after the 3 steps above. Put on the button, if you hear some sound (like da…da…da…) but the chair doesn’t moove, then it is very likely the motor problem. You need to contact the supplier for a replacement.
Fourthly, check the power supply
Power supply usually works stably. There is a lighting indicator in the power supply. If it is light on, then it is working. If it is light off, then it is not working. Many people said repairing a power supply, my suggestion is to find the original chair supplier for a replacement. That will save many troubles.
